A Door just opened on a street --

© Emily Dickinson

A Door just opened on a street --

A Dew sufficed itself --
And satisfied a Leaf

And then -- it knocks at Will --
That is the manufacturing spot

These shadows scrutinize --

© Emily Dickinson

A Cap of Lead across the sky
Was tight and surly drawn
We could not find the mighty Face
The Figure was withdrawn --

I was owned of Thee --

The Real one died for Thee --
Just Him -- not me --
