Biography

Lâm Quang Mỹ is a Polish-Vietnamese poet who writes in Polish and Vietnamese.

Lâm Quang Mỹ was born in Nghê-an, Vietnam and studied Electronics at Gdańsk University of Technology. He worked for the Science and Technology Research Center in Hanoi before returning to Poland in 1989. He has a PhD in Physics from the Physics Institute of the Polish Academy of Science.

My composes poetry in Polish and Vietnamese and translates literature of both languages. He is an active participant in Polish literary life, taking part in events including the Warsaw Poetic Autumn, UNESCO World Poetry Days, International Poetic November in Poznań, Poetic Autumn in Krynica, International Literary Autumn at Pogórze, and international events such as “And the City spoke” in the UK, Poland and Italy, the International Festival of Poetry in Vilnius (Lithuania) and the international festival “Poets Without Frontiers” in Polanica.

His poems have been published in many literary magazines including Poetry Today, Literary Poland, Topic (Temat), Enigma, Gold Thoughts, Warsaw Tales (New Europe Writers), and From Over Viliya. In 2004 he released two compilations, “Echo” (published in Poland) and “Doi” (Waiting) published by Culture and Information Publishing in Hanoi. His poems have been translated into Czech and published in the Czech Republic under the title “Wandering song" (2008). He also translated into Polish, with Pawel Kubiak, the "Anthology of Vietnamese Poetry from 11th Century to 19th Century" (published by IBIS 2010).

He is an honorary citizen of Krasne, region of Zygmunt Krasiński, Poland and is a laureate of several awards including UNESCO World Poetry Days 2006. He is a member of the Vietnamese Writers Association and the Polish Writers Association.
