The snow lies
firm and white
The sea gleams
summer-blue
Flaming sun
and ice-clear air
burn in tired eyes
Sea-birds breed,
hoarse starlings screech
The night comes
black and deep
Boats follow
shoals of herring
Over the land in the west
a star sparkles greenly
March
