Tell Them

I tell them Lord but they don’t hear,

They don’t care whether You shed a tear.

I show them Lord but they don’t see,

They don’t know it doesn’t come from me.

Maybe it’s me that doesn’t get through,

If that is so, give them someone new.

I know I can’t fit the part,

I can’t reach into their heart.

I do my best to share Your word,

But they act like they never heard.

They will not listen to what I say,

Give me words oh Lord I pray.

Give them someone who is really smart,

That can touch their very heart.

Someone sharp and very wise,

That can open up their eyes.

Don’t leave them Lord in my hand,

To be blown around like flying sand.

Give me Lord the words I need,

That will plant Your very seed.

My words alone don’t have the life,

That can save them from the strife.

I do my best to tell what I know,

But they act as if it isn’t so.
